Greg Burns, Tate Township Trustee addressed the July meeting attendees, “Our dilemma for keeping the township deputy can only be solved by placing a levy on the ballot in November so that the voters can decide.”
The amounts are not yet certified so the numbers are not exact but 0.6 mils would generate enough to pay for the deputy’s contract and would cost the taxpayers a little over $19 each year for a $100,000 home. Once the numbers are certified and it gets closer to November, residents can go to the auditor’s website and check to see the exact cost for their address.
The Clermont County Engineer’s office reports a bridge replacement on Jones Florer Rd in Tate Township where a closure will be necessary until the work is finished. Illegal dumping (and it is illegal!) at recycling drop-offs around Clermont County continues to be an issue. It has forced the recent closing of two recycling drop-offs at Shor Park and Bethel Save-A-Lot. A few years ago, the county had 42 sites for recycling. Now it is down to 26.Many residents have curbside recycling in their neighborhoods. These additional drop-offs are offered for those who don’t have curbside recycling, or don’t want to pay the service fee often charged by companies that collect trash in Clermont County. But the abuse at these drop-off sites, where people routinely dump furniture, carpet, large plastic items, construction waste, etc., will inevitably end up in more of them closing.Rumpke, which services the recycling drop-offs, has this list of what you can and cannot recycle.
