You may have noticed the preparation of construction yards by Duke Energy for a pipeline in the Bethel-Batavia area of Clermont County. This release was sent from Duke Energy:
Duke Energy is in the pre-construction phase of the Bethel-Batavia Pipeline Project. The laydown yards will be loacted on Old St Rt 32, behind the city of Batavia’s maintenance facility at the northern end of the project area, and on Bethel-New Richmond Road near Moore Road, at the southern end of the project area.
The laydown yards will be used to house office trailers for the construction team and inspectora, as well as storage for the pipe, materials and other equipment needed for the project. Construction personnel, heavy trucks and equipment will be coming in and out of these two laydown areas regularly. Please remember to slow down and use caution in all construction areas and work zones.
Pipeline construction is scheduled to begin in late Spring 2023 and be complete in Fall 2023.
Restoration activities will follow construction. More information will be provided to the public as that time approaches.
