Tate Township Board of Zoning Appeals

Regular Meetings of the Board of Zoning Appeals are scheduled on the third Tuesdays of each month at 7:00 PM.  If there is no business before the BZA the meetings can be canceled at the discretion of the Chairman of the Board of Zoning Appeals.

Applications for Administrative Appeals and Variances must be received by the first of the month to be eligible for a hearing within the same month.  Notices of upcoming hearings will be announced in the Clermont Sun or the Cincinnati Enquirer at least 10 days in advance of the scheduled hearing date, with a copy of the notice being sent by U.S. Mail to adjacent property owners, and other interested parties identified on the application.  The notices will also be published to the News page of the Tate Township website, and posted at public buildings within the township.

All regular and special meetings, including public hearings on zoning cases, will be held at 149 N. East St. Bethel, OH 45106 unless otherwise specified in the published notices.

Members

Regular Members

The Board of Zoning Appeals consists of five Regular members who are required by law, ORC Section 519.13, to be residents of the unincorporated area of the township.  Members are appointed by the trustees to five year terms, and the terms are arranged such that one member’s term renews each year.  Members continue to serve until a successor is appointed and qualified by the Board of Trustees.  The Organization of the Board of Zoning Appeals is defined in Section 519.15.

Alternate Members

In addition to the five regular members, two Alternate members may be appointed by the Board of Trustees and have the same qualification requirements as regular members.  In the absence of a Regular member, an Alternate member may vote on any matter with the same authority as the absent Regular member.

The Board of Zoning Appeals does not currently have any Alternate members.
