A 35th anniversary event is in the planning stages by the Bethel Historical Society to happen on April 1^st, 2022.

Stay tuned – the Bethel Historical Society will be commemorating the 35^th anniversary of World Walker, Steve Newman’s return into Bethel after his 4-year walk around the world.

The plan is to recreate the last part of his journey from Bantam to Bethel. Steve left Bethel on April 1^st, 1983 and returned on April 1^st, 1987.  Did you know that a trail in East Fork State Park is named after the World Walker?
