Ohio National Guard Helps Respond

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has called in 300 Ohio National Guards to “help with humanitarian efforts to respond to the coronavirus pandemic.” This happened Thursday.  When you see the National Guard’s vehicles and soldiers, do not be alarmed.  There are many false rumors on social media but Governor DeWine wants the people of Ohio to know the facts.

According to an Ohio National Guard spokesperson, soldiers will be working with the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services and the Ohio Association of Foodbanks. They will help by transporting, packaging, and distributing food to homes in vulnerable areas, community-based locations, and partner agencies in rural counties.

The Guard members are from the 37th Infantry Brigade Combat Team headquartered in Columbus.  They are headed to rural areas so we will surely see them in Tate Township. If you do see them, be sure to thank them for their service to our country.
